Phew.
After almost a year, I”ve finally written something that I actually think is acceptable.I’ve had quite a few reasons to put my feeling down on a keyboard,or guitar or on paper but somehow everything sounded too familiar,too reminiscent of me!!!
I’ve been tired of me. I feel like I’ve said all I have to say and explored the same chord progressions and melodies….changing rhythms and blah blah blah….I’m so musical….blah blah blah..
This time, the feelings, just the feelings…I had to tell myself to work a bit and write down all the little notes and not be lazy…WRITE IT!!! DO THE WORK!!!
and with hardly any words….words for me have become redundant and diminishing rather than explanatory and enhancing and enlightening…..Just a few,to give the sense, but the real knowing the real feeling the real truth is in the music.The name of the chord doesn’t matter.It’s about how it runs,flows, feels, moves into the next series of notes to invoke the essence of “what it is”.Just play and write and dig up and feel.Don’t think about form or chorus and verse or solos or genre…just go with it.When it happens, then it’s good.
